I’m still not really sure what a tabacchi store is supposed to be. Something (the name, maybe?) makes me think it used to be a place in which one could go to buy cigarettes, but it’s so much more than that now. It kind of reminds me of an AM/PM, minus all the beverages and snacks (no Slurpees here… 😦 ). Our local tabacchi store does indeed have cigarettes, along with greeting cards, Barbie dolls, and toilet paper. It’s where we went to get our student bus passes last week and hand soap when we ran out this morning. It also has a slot machine inside, and it sells stamps and car-washing detergent too. Interesting place, that tabacchi store… I don’t quite know what to make of it.
